Solo exhibition, The Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art in Aomori

Tomokazu Matsuyama Studio is pleased to announce his solo exhibition at the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art in Aomori, "Fictional Landscape", which will present his thirty paintings and sculptures, including twenty-three works for the first view in Japan and nine new works, from October 27, 2023 - March 17, 2024.

This exhibition presents a wide range of Matsuyama’s work, from shaped canvas paintings to large-scale stainless steel sculptures, making their debut in Japan. This exhibition, Matsuyama’s first major solo exhibition in Japan, will present his recent masterpieces.

Group Exhibition, The Long Museum (West Bund)

Matsuyama’s painting will be presented at A Leisurely Stroll - The Tenth Anniversary of The Long Museum, taking place at the Long Museum West Bund, from May 20, 2023, to August 13, 2023.

The exhibition will display a curated selection of global artworks, looking back at contemporary art from the late 1970s to the present, each echoing its respective time and environment.

Tomokazu Matsuyama launched a new permanent public art, "Infinity Trinity", at the CHUNICHI BUILDING, in Nagoya City in Japan, in the spring of 2024.

In the CHUNICHI BUILDING, artworks that contrastingly depict the evolution of humanity within inherited history and memory will be exhibited.

Permanent public art collaboration with RxART

In collaboration with RxART, a non-profit organization in the US, Tomokazu Matsuyama's public art,"Solitude Aqua Amore", has revealed a permanent mural at SUNY Upstate Medical Institute, a hospital facility of the State University of New York.

RxART, a non-profit organization, collaborates with artists to bring public art to healthcare facilities. This work was created with the input of facility personnel and installed in the lobby area of the facility.
